House Bill Rescinds Military Mandate for COVID-19 Vaccine: The U.S. House of Representatives voted to rescind the Pentagon’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate this past Thursday. This came after House Republicans threatened to withhold votes for the $858 billion National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) unless the bill removed the vaccine mandate for service members. According to an article by AP News, Democrats agreed to Republican demands to remove the requirement for service members to get a COVID vaccine in order to win bipartisan support for the bill. The Pentagon will have 30 days to rescind the mandate and there appears to be no sign as to whether or not President Biden will veto the bill.
